You’ve made the biggest move of your life. You’ve crossed a continent for a new adventure. A new job. Maybe a new family.

But one thing never changes.

You’re Watford* Until You Die! (*insert less unfortunate choice of team here*)

Luckily for you, the Premier League (you’ll have to get used to it being called “the EPL” or
“Prem-ear League”) is enjoyed all over the country. In bustling New York City there are dozens of brilliant venues to enjoy a drink, catch some games and celebrate/commiserate with like minded fans.

In fact, with so many places to watch, no-3pm-blackout New York might even be better than home! Join our community today and meet other people on the same path as you. You never know, you might find some friends to watch games with.

Five great places to watch football in New York City

Football Factory at Legends
6 W. 33rd Street, New York, NY 10001

Located in the heart of Manhattan, right by the Empire State Building, Football Factory at Legends is designed to look like a piece of home in the USA. With a low-lit pub vibe, twenty screens and a full slate of Premier League games, Football Factory at Legends will always have what you need.

Football Factory at Legends is home to supporters groups for Aston Villa, Brighton, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Newcastle and Southampton!

Carragher’s Bar
17 John St, New York, NY 10038

Located in lower Manhattan, by the Financial District no list of football bars is complete without a mention of Carragher’s Bar. And yes, it’s named after that Carragher (who is one of the owners).

As you might guess from the name, it’s very Liverpool friendly. In fact, the whole pub is dedicated to the city of Liverpool and most importantly its football team. As well as footy and beers, homesick expats can find a full Irish breakfast complete with black and white pudding and baked beans.

The Grafton
126 1st Ave., New York, NY 10009

Another Irish pub, The Grafton is the home of the NY Hammers, New York’s very own West Ham supporters’ club.

As a rule, if you’re looking to watch football, Irish pubs are a good bet. The Grafton shows a full slate of Premier league games as well as Champions League, Europa and, if you’re into it, Irish rugby too.

The pub serves a decent selection of beers alongside classic pub grub.

Smithfield Hall
138 W 25th St, New York, NY 10001

A cool bar/restaurant combo serving great food and footie including Premier League, FA Cup games and even a couple of Championship games for better supported teams like Leicester or Leeds.

The bar serves a selection of classic food and drink and advises booking ahead for popular match days.

Smithfield Hall is another Hammers bar, and home to New York’s Manchester United fan club.

Turnmill
119 E. 27th St., New York, NY 10016

A cool sports bar serving up craft beers, bar snacks and proud home to the NYC Evertonians. If you’re looking to celebrate and (let’s be honest mostly) commiserate with some fellow Blues then this is your home away from home.

Located just a couple of blocks away from the Flatiron Building, sit back, sink a beer or two and enjoy your afternoon.

What about the Championship and the rest of the EFL?

Well actually you can watch some of that too!

This year the US TV network CBS and the English Football League (EFL) announced a multi-year deal to broadcast EFL matches across multiple platforms in the US.

We don’t know exactly how that will play out and which matches will be televised long term. No doubt Wrexham will be popular.

We do know that it will be showing:

CBS Sports’ live EFL coverage will feature:

  • A minimum 155 Championship matches
  • A minimum 38 League One and League Two matches
  • All 15 Play-Off matches
  • A minimum 30 Carabao Cup matches
  • 3 Bristol Street Motors Trophy matches

Wherever you live, wherever you are, there will be some corner of that foreign field (TV) that is forever England (EFL). Do you have a favourite spot to watch football (ahem, soccer) in the USA?
