These days it’s much easier than it used to be to catch the NFL in London. Since the arrival of the International Series interest in Football of the oval variety is sky high.
But whilst you will still be able to find places to watch your favourite NFL teams, watch out for a few issues:
- Time difference! NFL games are on Sundays and there just aren’t going to be many bars where you can watch the Sunday night game which will finish around 330am GMT. Quite a few bars will also kick out before the end of the 4:30pm kick off (in the UK 9:30pm). Your best bet for watching socially is to limit yourself to 1pm kick offs.
- Most UK sports bars will show the games selected by Sky TV to show that week. Sky Sports holds the rights to broadcast NFL games live during the regular season but they only show one or two of games running concurrently. It’s also possible to watch RedZone on Sky Sports.
- A tiny number of venues may have access to NFL Game Pass, but even with those we recommend, it’s worth contacting in advance to see if they will show the game you want to see!
Where to watch NFL games in London?
Passyunk Avenue
Fitzrovia, Waterloo and Battersea
London’s own Philly bar with signature Philadelphia cheese steaks, finger licking wings and cold cold beers. Passyunk Avenue shows every 6pm and 9.25pm (UK time!) kickoff, though as we’ve recommended, it’s best to contact them in advance. Reservations are recommended. Passyunk Avenue is also the home for Philadelphia Eagles fans in London (of which there are surprisingly quite a few), so if you’re hoping to find somewhere to watch an NFL late game which features Philadelphia then you can stay up late there too!
Hippodrome Casino (Leicester Square)
Cranbourn St, Leicester Square, London WC2H 7JH
Don’t be put off by the fact that this is a casino. Gambling isn’t the focus here. What is important is the huge sports bar which shows every single NFL game.
Bodeans BBQ
Various locations
An American style barbecue place in London, perfect to enjoy some shared grub, grab a beer and catch up with the NFL.
Bodeans show a range of games throughout the season, with the schedule appearing on their website, so make sure to check that out first before making your booking!
What about the London games?
When the NFL comes to town for the International Series, all bets are off! Hundreds of bars and clubs will get involved. There’ll be fan zones, pop up American sports bars, everything you could want! And of course, nothing beats going to the games themselves!
For updates, check in with the NFL UK website for details of all the fanzones and watch parties!
